Mrs. Mary Hazel Goods, 89

Mary  Hazel Owen was born to the late Mr. John Douglas and Mary Brice Owens on May 1, 1925 here in Winnsboro, SC. She fell asleep in death peacefully at her home on March 27, 2015. 
She was married to the late Mr. Reese Goods in 1954. Mrs. Goods was the beloved mother of Mr.James  Robert  (Ethel) Owens of  Chester, SC; Mr. Eric R. Goods of Baltimore, MD; Mrs. Sharon (Nathaniel) Sims; and  Mr. Neal Mack Kaham of Winnsboro, SC.; 
Mrs. Mary Goods leaves her loving family including her sister and dearest friend, Mrs. Linda Sunkins, and her brother, Mr.Bill (Wendell)Moore of Winnsboro, SC; her fondly remembered niece and nephew, Mrs.Vonda Belton and Mr. Quentin Owens of Winnsboro, SC; her dear aunts, Mrs. Margaret Smith of Winnsboro, SC and Mrs. Lil Cauthen of Rock Hill, SC,. She counted as family Mrs. Melanie Boyd, her close friend and spiritual sister, Mrs. Margaret Johnson and her caregiver, Mrs .Ella Peay. 
As a young woman, Mrs. Goods moved to Baltimore MD, where she lived for 41 years. After moving back to Winnsboro, SC she enjoyed working in the classroom with young children at Fairfield Child Development Center. She retired from Fairfield Central High School cafeteria where students and staff loved her for her personality and her good fried chicken. 
When Mary Hazel saw in her own King James Version Bible at Psalm 83:18 that God has a name, and His name is Jehovah, she was excited, and had to tell everybody she knew. This she did faithfully until her death, ever since she was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witness on June 19, 1987.
 Mary Goods was known for her fine voice, and all who heard her sing felt that they had been bestowed with a precious gift. 
Sister Mary Hazel Owens Goods looks forward to seeing her 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, as well as all of her many other nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and her many, many friends in God's paradise new earth in the resurrection.
 Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, April 1, 2015 @ 1:00pm @ Kingdom Hall Jehovah's Witnesses.Viewing will be 12:00 noon t0 7:00pm Tuesday March 31, 2015 at The Russell-McCutchen Funeral Home. Condolence may be sent to the family by visiting www.russellmccutchen.net.









Infant Antonio M. Sanders Jr.

Infant Antonio M. Sanders Jr. passed away on March 23, 2015. He is survived by his mother Candace Davis and his father: Antonio Sanders Sr.of Winnsboro SC. Graveside service will be 3:00pm Monday at Old Ebenezer Church Greenbrier Mosseydale Rd. with burial in the church cemetery.

Mr. Jimmy Ed Cammon, 75

Mr. Jim Ed. Cammon 75, 332 Cason Rd. Winnsboro, SC., died March 19, 2015.  He was born in Fairfield County. He is survived by a wife, Rosa Lee White Cammon; two sons: John E. (Keitha) Cammon Blair SC, James E. (Sandra) Cammon Winnsboro SC. Three daughters: Jean E. (Moses T. Jr. ) Boyd, Diane Cammon, Carolyn Cammon all of Winnsboro SC. One brother: Willie (Janice) Cammon Winnsboro SC, and a devoted nephew: Dwight (Lois) Curlee Winnsboro SC, 17 grand children, 17 great grand’s, 3 great-great grand’s and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held Tuesday March 24, 2015 at 2:00 (1:00pm viewing) at Greater Mount Zion Baptist Church, Winnsboro, SC and interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Alberta Henderson James, 76

Mrs.Alberta H. James
Sister Alberta James 76, died at Palmetto Richland Hospital on Tuesday, March 17 2015, to enter her heavenly home. Alberta was born on January 19, 1939. She was the daughter of the late Wade and Mamie O’ Meater Henderson.  Alberta was baptized at an early age and became a member of the Mt Moriah Baptist church in Jenkinsville, South Carolina. She was employed at Glenn’s 6 to 10 store for 15 years and the department of Dept. of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) for 20 years which she retired. Alberta loved her children, grandchildren and especially her great grandchildren. Kanyla and Melonie brought her great joy and laughter in their actions, words, and love. She was well known in the community especially for her cooking and loved by many.
Alberta was preceded in death by: her husband Jimmy James of 47 years, her sons Theodore Henderson and Terry James, brothers Willie, John, Lionel, Bennie Lee, Clyde, and Jacob Henderson and son-in-law Charlie Richards.

Her everlasting memories will live on forever through her family, children:  Minster Shirley(Alpheaus )
Bevans of Nashville TN, Perry James of the home Jenkinsville, SC; Barbara Richards of Columbia, SC; and Gloria (Larry) Trapp Winnsboro, SC, sisters: Mattie Thompson, Janie Gambrell,  and Mary Henderson of Jenkinsville, SC, and a brother;  James Henderson of Columbia, SC.  Alberta had 8 stepchildren, 11 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.Alberta was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grand mother,sister,and dear friend to all and she will be missed dearly by all who knew her.

Funeral services will be Sunday March 22, 2015 at 3:00pm Mt. Moriah Baptist Church with burial in the Church Cemetery.Viewing will Saturday March 21, 2015 from 12 noon to 7:00pm at Russell-McCutchen Funeral Home.

Mr. Charles E. Johnson, 50

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain; for the former things are passed away.
On Sunday March 15, 2015 God saw that it was time to take away the pain and sorrow, so at 4:11 am God came and took the sting out of death for Charles. (oh death, oh death where is thou sting).
Charles E. Johnson Sr. was born in Fairfield County on June 3, 1964 to the late Ruby Johnson Martin and the late Charles Young.
He attended Fairfield County Schools and graduated in the class of 1982. He was a former member of Victory In Christ Outreach of Columbia, SC. Later came to Shady Grove Independent with his family until the decline of his health. Charles was a hard working all around man of God. To care for his family, he did what it took. Charles worked for Manhattan Shirt Company for 27 years until the closing, then he went to Kraft Foods. He worked part time at Captain Galley, Flying J, he cut grass on his spare time.
He leaves to cherish his memory; His wife of 23 years wonderful years Carolyn Loraine Johnson of the home. 1 daughter; Fredlesa D. Johnson, 1 step-daughter; Creshondra M. Beaver, 1 son; Charles E. Johnson Jr., 1 step-son; Robert Lee Robinson. 5 sisters; Terry (Kevin) McDaniel of Winnsboro SC, Loretta Johnson, Cheryl (Lindsey) Hopkins, Elise Govan of Boston Mass, Pamela Franklin of Syracuse NY. 3 brothers; Marvin (Martha) Johnson, Michael Johnson, Melvin (Joyce) Johnson all of Winnsboro SC. 2 aunts; Estelle McCrory of Winnsboro,SC, Shirley Brown of Charlotte NC. 2 uncles; Johnny Mack Johnson, Jack Johnson of Winnsboro SC. 2 grands that he has raised from birth; Tyquarius Beaver, David Beaver, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. 2 brother in laws ; Michael (Rosetta) Hill, Hinesville GA, Bobby Hill of Charlotte NC. 4 sister in laws; Mary Walker of Columbia SC, Dorothy (Henry) Dukes of Columbia SC, Mattie (James) Smith of Winnsboro SC and Sandra Ashford of Winnsboro SC.Funeral services will be Saturday March 21, 2015 at 2:00pm Shady Grove Independent Church with burial at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery. Vistation will be Friday March 20, 2015 from 12 noon to 7:00pm.
