Mrs. Essie Lou Hollis Thompson, 96

Mrs. Essie Lou Hollis Thompson, 96, 15680 State Hwy 215 S. Jenkinsville, SC.  Mrs. Thompson passed away on August 16, 2014, surrounded by her family. She was born in Jenkinsville, SC. She was the daughter of the late Rev. Lawrence and Ella Martin Hollis. She was married to the late Rev. Moses Thompson. This union was blessed with two children, Elouise T. Davis and the late Moses Thompson, Jr. Two grandchildren: Angela (Ellie) Belton, Columbia, SC and Edward Allen Thompson of Brooklyn, NY. Sister-in-laws Delayma Mae Thompson and Thelma Hollis; and great- grandchildren.

Jan.10, 2014 at Palmetto Health Richland.  She was born Jan. 15, 1950 in Richland County.  She is survived by one son; Alvin Stevenson (Ridgeway), one daughter; Lil Marie Stevenson (Ridgeway), one adopted son; Malik Harper (Blythewood), one adopted daughter; Kirsten Coates (Blythewood), one brother; Larry Cunningham (Columbia), two sisters; Nancy Minger (Ridgeway) and Jessie Johnson (Maryland).

He was employed as a Artist at Art Gallery in Atlanta, Ga. He attended the Art Institution of Atlanta.
He is survived by his parents, Richland and Shirley Jeter: four sisters, Jennifer, Tashia  Jeter of Columbia, SC, Stephanie Jeter of Charlotte, NC., Vicky Jeter of Fort Drum, NY.
Service will be Monday, February 24, 2014 at Ebenezer AME Church at 2:00pm. Burial in the Church Cemetery. Public viewing
