Cynthia Ann Lyles, 57

Cynthia Ann Lyles 57, of 372 Pearson Rd Blair SC passed away on Aug. 30, 2017. She is survived by one son:  Matthew Lyles, two daughters: LaShasta Edmonds and Tomeka Lyles. Two brothers: Sammie and Willie Lyles, four sisters: Mary Peay, Kathleen Lyles, Everlyn Pauling and Brenda Lyles and a host other relatives and friends.  Funeral services will be 1:00 pm (12:00 noon viewing) Thurs. Sept. 7, 2017 @ St. Matthews Baptist Church # 2 with burial in the Church cemetery. Visitation will be 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm Wed. Sept. 6, 2017 @ Russell-McCutchen Funeral Home, 324 S. Mr. Willie Lee Able Sr. 60

Mr. Willie Able, Sr. was born August 7, 1957 in Ridgeway, South Carolina. He was the youngest son born to the Late Harry and the Late Carrie B. Able. He transitioned from life on Monday, August 21, 2017 at Palmetto Health Richland Heart Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina.

Willie was educated through public schools of Fairfield County and was a part of the Class of 1975. At an early age Willie joined Calvary Baptist Church of Ridgeway, where he served for many years as a member of the Trustee Board. As he became young man, Willie began to work alongside his brothers and father with the family landscaping and asphalt business. He would eventually become the owner of Able & Son’s Paving & Landscaping. He married his high school sweetheart, Frances (Dennie), in 1978 and settled in Ridgeway where they raised their son, Willie Jr. (PeeWee).

Willie leaves to cherish his memories, his wife: Frances Smalls-Able; a son: Willie Able, Jr. two brothers: Mr. James Belton & Mr. Larry Belton. A mother-in-law: Ms. Frances McCutchen. Three sister-in-laws: Ms. Betty Able, Min. Loretta Able & Ms. Della Ashford. Four brother-in-laws: Mr. James Smalls, Jr., Mr. Johnny R. Smalls, Mr. Randy Smalls & Mr. William McCutchen, Jr.. A special aunt: Ms. Carrie Able and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Willie is preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Frank Able, Haskell Able, Harry Able, Jr., & Stan Able, Two special uncles: Mr. James Able, Sr. & Mr. Wesley Able, one special aunt: Mrs. Christine Able.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am (10:00 am viewing) Friday August 25, 2017 @ Calvary Baptist Church Ridgeway SC 29130. Visitation will be 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm Thursday August 24, 2017 @ Russell-McCutchen Funeral Home, 324 S. Vanderhorst St. Winnsboro SC 29180.

Mrs. Oreather Weldon Brown, 88

Mrs. Oreather  Brown, 88  of 228 Chappell Rd. Winnsboro S.C. was born on December 21, 1928, in Fairfield County to the late Mr. & Mrs. Willie and Bertha Rabb Weldon, she was number 6 of 13 children. She departed this earthly journey on August 21, 2017 for her new home. Waiting at the River are her loving parents, husband of 40 years Mr. Simpson D. Brown Sr., Siblings; Ordaris, Bertha, Willie, Charles, Annie, Mattie and Mary.

Oreather grew up and attended school in Fairfield County. At an early age she was a member of Shiloh AME Church, and was Co-Owner of Mister Brown Seafood.

A loving Mother, grandmother, sister and friend leaves to cherish her memory five sons: Simpson, "Junior", Ezzard Smiley" (Jackie), Moses (Yolanda), Amos and Willie "Bill" Brown all of Columbia, SC.; One daughter: Shirley (Calvin) Boyd of Columbia, SC.  Brothers:  Paul (Frances)Weldon, of Columbia SC., John Weldon of Virginia, Beach: Sisters: Majorie Owens, Betty Weldon, Charlotte Court House, Virginia , Ruth Daniels of  Columbia, SC. Brother-in-law; Rev. T.D. (Bernice) Brown of Columbia S.C., Bishop Dock Davis of Winston Salem N.C. 17 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and close friends, all whom will miss her DEARLY.

Ms. Carrie Gaither, 93 of 117 Bellfield Rd., Ridgeway, SC, passed away on August 13, 2017. She leaves behind her Niece: Bernice Samuel of Columbia, SC; great nieces, nephews, great nephews, other relatives. Graveside Service will be at 3:00pm-Saturday, August 19. 2017. St. John A.M. E. Church Cemetery- Winnsboro, SC.

Mrs. Rosa L. Ford-Cunningham

Rosa L. Cunningham departed this life on July 28, 2017 after a long illness. Beloved wife of the late Ellis Cunningham, mother of Cassandra (William) and Dante (Michaelle). Visitation and funeral services on Monday August 7, 2017 at Zion Baptist Church, 4850 Blagden Ave. NW Washington DC; Viewing 10 am to 11 am, funeral service immediately afterwards. Final interment will be in Kingstree, SC.
Funeral services will be 12 noon with a wake from 11 am to 12 noon Thursday August 10, 2017 @ Elijah United Methodist Church, 8726 Hemingway Hwy. Kingstree SC 29556 with burial in the Church cemetery.
