Rev. Thompson began his Christian journey at an early age at White Hall A.M.E. Thompson learned more about God’s word, played games and looked forward to the refreshments.
Rev. Thompson was called by God to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  He preached his Initial Sermon on April 9, 1989 at White Hall A.M.E. Church in Jenkinsville, S.C., under the pastoralship of Rev. George Ashford.  He was ordained on October 13, 1991, as an Itinerant Deacon. Bishop Frederick E. James was the Presiding Bishop.

Church, Winnsboro, S.C.  Rev. Thompson pastored at those four churches for five years.  The next eight years he served as assistant pastor at Gethsemane Baptist Church, Blair, S.C.  After Gethsemane, Rev. Thompson returned to his first love on his Christian journey, the African Methodist Church.  Rev. Thompson later became Assistant Pastor at Mount Moriah Baptist Church. He was a servant of God and his community.
Rev. Thompson served as Past Master of United Lodge #401, demitted to Blue Valley Lodge #264.  He was also a member of the Seven Royal Arch, C.C. Johnson Consistory #136nd Degree.  Rev. Thompson also served as the president of the Jenkinsville-Monticello-Horeb Volunteer Fire Department and later as Captain.  He was employed with Glenn Associate Surveying, Inc. of Jenkinsville, S.C. for twenty-nine and a half years.
Rev. Thompson was a man of great humility, patience and love for mankind.
He was married to Rayphaela Green and to this union one son and one daughter were born.
